Interior Painting

We use the same process to achieve consistent results on all projects that we complete- regardless of how large or small. After moving large furniture to the center of the room to be painted and covering it with new plastic sheeting, we cover all exposed floors with canvas drop cloths. We then remove all outlet switch plates and begin preparation work.

To properly prepare a surface for finish paint, it generally takes up to three times as long to complete as the actual painting itself. We spend as much time as necessary and give the attention required to prepare surfaces the right way to assure that the finish looks as close as possible to the way that it did when it was new. After preparation is complete, we paint the walls, ceilings and trim using the coating system that is best suited for the area of your home that is being painted. All project areas are cleaned daily and left over materials are marked and left for the homeowner in case touch ups are needed in the future.

  2. • All peeling paint areas are scraped and sanded to provide a smooth finish. Additionally, areas of severe peeling paint are power   sanded with high speed grinders and/or random orbital sanders to remove cracked/alligatored paint and provide a sound substrate   for painting.
  3. • Glossy surfaces are scuff sanded to assure proper adhesion of the finish coat.
  4. • All cracks in wood and areas where siding meets wood trim are filled with a paint-grade latex caulk to lock out moisture and provide   a smooth uniform appearance.
  5. • All areas of bare wood, tannin bleed, and bare metal are primed with a premium grade primer/sealer before application of the   finish coats.
  6. • Upon completion of all jobs, paint residue and debris are cleaned up and properly disposed of. Left over paint is labeled and left for   the homeowner in the case that touch ups are necessary in the future.

Cleaning gutters once or twice a year is an inexpensive way to help minimize the potential damage and costly repairs that result when gutters and downspouts become clogged. When a gutter or downspout is clogged, water is forced to go over the top of the gutter instead of down the downspout and away from the house. The constant moisture that accumulates becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Leaves break down over time and the accumulated weight weakens the fascia and soffit where the gutter is attached to the house. This will result in rotten trim. The overflow of water over the top of the gutter streaks or discolors the outside visible area of the gutter.
